Maybe this?  Kayak Fishing Association of New York (http://kfa-ny.org/forum/).  Looks like they have a lively crowd there ...  sorry, I can't help with any particular groups, but I would imagine you can hookup with the local kayak guides as well.

By the way, strippers and blues around Long Islands are off the chart!  Also, If you happen to go north to Massachusetts, you can try for giant tuna in a shorter distance from shore, either off Cape Cod or anywhere between Boston to Cape Cod (you need to be lucky and have to be on a PB, but definitely possible).  They also have a steep drop off offshore-ish from NYC, a party boat can take you there.

One caution, it's (very) cold in the fall/winter/spring time, so immersion gear is a big must have.

I wish I could have got to you sooner.  I hope you check this out.  Check out NewEnglandKayakfishing.com and TKAA.org.  They are both a little ways from you, but close enough there are people who will be around you and able to point you in the right direction.
Also, I recommend fishing the striper shootout in Salem Connecticut if you ever get the chance. It is a hell of a good time.  Run by nice people and a really good chance at big fish.

Hi Ken
The striper migration is just starting, from the Chesapeake north. Great surf/shore fishing for the next couple of months. Try 'on the water.com'.

Let's go fishin', and don't look back, cuz you'll never see a hearse with a kayak rack!
