Check your local Ace Hardware stores.  I found mine at Pagano's in Alameda.  I know Home Depot doesn't stock'em.

With all this press from Josh's Sturgeon, this Saturday's outing seems to be a big one.

Can we get a head count, just to see how many yakkers will be present? Should be great for some publicity and let the people know that kayak fishing is alive and well in NorCal.

I've got myself, Redfish (Robert) and Alabama (Ethan) from PFiC as definites, so that's 3. Let's see if we can hold our own Sturgeon Bowl.

One idea I have is to flag a passing Power Boat and see if they can take a group shot, but that would be only possible toward the end of the day when everyone's done fishing.

Count me in as well.

Bill, I'm heading up from S.J.  Can you PM me your address?

Anyone have luck with frozen grass shrimp?  Mel Cotton's has some -- a guy there says a great place for sturgeon in the south bay is at the Towers out of Alviso Slough.  Gotta scout that out soon...

Hey Guys,

Since to sounds like there a few more guys coming with us.  Maybe meeting at the Safeway near Bill's house would be better.  Like to get there at 7:45am on Sat.  Leave the parking lot at 8am.

The Safeway is on San Carlos and Meridian.  Would this be better for you Bill?

We will stop for bait at the two shops near the launch site.

Dave... I wouldn't recommend using frozen grass shrimp... Basically, they get mushy after they've been frozen and don't stay on the hook very well at all.

I'd highly recommend picking up fresh, live shrimp for your best chances.

Safeway is fine. San Carlos and Meridian 7:45am Saturday. This seems like the biggest crew since the Davenport Derby!! Awesome!

OK Safeway it is.  Everyone, please bring a small cooler or sometime you can keep ice in.  The ghost & grass shrimp, plus your herring or eel will thank you for it.

Also, carry a few salmon ball (2 1/2 to 3 lb) to help your anchor stay down.  You can not see or feel the hit if you are slowly drifting because of lack of weight or anchor line.
