Well I know a handful of us bought the drekkar reel last month while it was on sale, and I think I can speak for everyone saying we were highly impressed and will be looking for more gear from them.

Only thing I'd put as a note of caution on their spinning reels is weight as they are full metal body reels. Their bait casters are graphite and much lighter however.

One more note is 6 and 8 carry five year warranties, and their nicer rods carry lifetime warranties.

If you're not to familiar with how long an average reel is warrantied you're looking at about 1 year from every major brand, Penn, daiwa, Abu Garcia etc.

Also, for you vets and first responders out there, they have a discount program.

Not a negative review!

I bought 2 of the drekar series reels and the drag malfunctioned on one of them after a couple uses. Some sand got lodged in the drag mechanism and it somehow caused a piece of aluminum to start grinding against the gears. I opened up the reel and found metal shavings. The drag still works but is no longer audible after I took out the mangled piece of metal.

I still very much like the reels despite this so I contacted sixgill for a replacement. They are sending me a new one, no questions asked!

Let me know if you guys have any issues with your reels. I am very happy with their customer service.

Oh dang that's kinda crazy. But sand and reels in general is a bad combo haha.

I've heard they have great customer service to though, thankfully I'm yet to find out.
