Some of your dungies are female. Hope those weren't the keepers.

There's nothing illegal about keeping female dungeness in california.

So confirm, can we keep female or not? A lot of us all threw back the females and kept males only. I thought we can only males but do different rules apply to non commercial? If that was the case we would have brought a poop ton more crab  :smt102

It isn't illegal for rec anglers to retain females in california.  I don't know if the event had a males only rule or not.  Many of us on this board do not normally retain females, but it is perfectly legal to do so.

My bad. You are correct. I've been crabbing in Oregon too long. This will boost my catch :smt002

When I pulled those guys in I didn't realize they were females until I went to clean them. I can't believe I didn't spot them to begin with. Another newbie screwup.
I will not keep anymore females. Thanks for pointing it out.

The four dung I caught where females so guess what. They stayed with me. Now if I see eggs coming out then sure I will toss it back.

The spot has been pretty picked through for keeper male dungies. I threw back my females but anyone can do as they want.

Great video Dan. Made me start planning to attend next year. My son watching the video had the same response to the Arnold joke and it killed me. Getting old.
