General Talk / My New Ride
« on: February 17, 2015, 05:25:14 PM »
I finally found my new ride I've been searching for. Had a great time in the PI. Great place, good food and beautiful people.

34
Another beautiful day out on the Pacific Ocean. Pulled 4 pots for nice quality crabs for 5 limits. I had to moved those 4 pots because some commie set his right next to our string. Here are some pics.

Took some veterans out today for some veterans day crabbing outside the gate. Left Alameda around 0700 and it was a beautiful ride on the bay and out the gate. There was no fog at all like yesterday. Arrived at our string around 0845. We pulled 4 pots for 5 nice limits. These are some nice quality crabs and it brought smiles to all the veterans onboard. Arrived back at Alameda around 1030 and still have the rest of the day to work on the yard.

Sorry for the late report. Solo run from Alameda at 0530 and flat like lake condition in the bay. So peaceful and beautiful in that time of the morning. Rounded Pt. Bonita and it was a rodeo ride till the end of the channel. Headed towards Dux and just outside of Roky Point in 70' of h2o, I started marking good bait. Dropped in around 0730 and trolled towards Dux, picked up the first fish 50 yards south of the can in 80' h2o 65' OTW green RSK with anchovie. I had to compete with 2 sealion for that fish and I could not believed that I won that battle. Those bastard chased that fish all the way to the net.

Dropped back down and work that area for another 30 minutes with no luck. Trolled towards the inside of the can in 70' of h2o, I got another fish 45' OTW same setup. I was done by 0930 and headed back in. It was an interesting ride going through the Bonita channel with the SW wind and some good size rollers. Made it back safely. There are still lots of bait out there and lots of good size fish.

Just read about this article this morning. Too many boater/watercraft accidents on the water.

Solo run out the gate today. Left Alameda around 0530, smooth ride on the bay until I hit the gate where I ran into thick fog. Throttle down a little bit until I hit Point Bonita where the fog lifted.

Make my way up towards Rocky Point in confused seas. Marked lots of bait just outside Rocky Point in 70' of h2o so I dropped in. Trolled towards Duxbury and within 30 minutes I got a hit and this fish was peeling line fast. I had to turned the boat around to gain some line back. After about 15 minutes battle, a nice fatty was in the net. 45' OTW, Green RSK with anchovie. I was just about half mile south of the can.

Trolled that area for another 45 minutes for no other hits. Started trolling towards the green can as I passed the can in 85' h2o I got a takedown and I brought him next to the boat and it looks like this little guy was not going to be a keeper. I tried to shook him off but the hook was too deep inside his mouth so decided to bring him onboard. He measured out at 24" and it was the go home fish. 60' OTW, Green RSK with anchovie. I was done around 0915 and back at the ramp around 1015.

Sinigang soup and fry salmon for dinner. The rest are swimming in the brine for the smoker tomorrow. Here are some pics.

Got an early start today, cruise under the GG Bridge around 0545 and it was still dark. This was the fist time I did it with the 17' Montauk. It was a beautiful morning and We are so lucky to live in a place where people paid thousands of dollars to come and see.

As for the fishing, it was a fruitful day out there. Dropped the line in around 0700 just outside Rocky Point in 70' of h2o and trolled towards The can, About a mile from the can I got the first solid take down and this fish was taking line. Got him to turn and 3 minutes later he was in the net. Green RSK/Red Sling blade with Anchovie 35' OTW. This fish measure out at 32"

Dropped back down and work the same area for 30 minutes with no other take down. Headed outside the can and tack south towards the fleet, just before the fleet I got another solid take down. This fish was taking line and it seems like he does not want anything to do with me. Finally tired him out and brought him next to the boat and it was an easy net job for me because he was belly up. 90' of h20 65' OTW same setup. This beast measure out at 35". I was done by 0930 and back at the dock by 1030. I even took the wife out for breakfast after I put the boat away. You know that is a good day when you are able to do that.

Saw quite a few kayaks out there by the green can, tried hail them on 69 but no answer.

General Talk / Missing Person (Updated)
« on: September 14, 2014, 07:11:45 PM »
I usually don't ask for anything or any help but I really need your help locating or pass the word around. My wife's cousin went missing in the Sacramento area. I have attached the Missing Person poster so if you see or hear anything, please contact the Sacramento Police department. Thank you so much and I appreciate any help. Aloha

Updated

We just got news that they found my wife's cousin safe and sound and they took her to the hospital. She is now resting in the hospital and the police department is still investigating what happened.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all my NorCal brothers and sisters for all your kind words and also for willing to help out locating her. Once again from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU.

I have been working 12 hours a day all week last week so on Saturday morning I talked the wife into letting me go out Sunday to get some well needed water Therapy. She gave me the green light so got the boat ready for a day of fishing Sunday.
Pushed off around 0530 and I was treated with a beauitful morning out on the bay. Got under the GG Bridge and it was flat ike a lake. Turned the corner of Pt. Bonita and headed towards Rocky Point. Dropped in about a half mile short of Rocky Point. Marked lots of bait and within 45 minutes I got the first fish on. Got him into the net with no broblem. Dropped back down and trolled for an hour until I finally hooked the go home fish. This little fiesty one did not want to join his cousin that's in the ice chest. I finally got him into the net after a few runs.
Both fish came on Green RSK with anchovie and a red Sling Blade, 70' h2o and 35' OTW. Beautiful ride coming back. Both fish are now sitting in the brine ready for the smoker tomorrow. Wife gonna make some sinigang soup for tonight. Life can't get any better than this.

Left Alameda around 0615, smooth ride all the way out to the middle ground. Dropped in and trolled towards Duxbury buoy. Hooked first fish around 11:15 in 85' of h2o, 60' OTW with Anchovie with green FBR and green sling blade. Hooked the go home fish around 11:45 around the same area. Both fish were caught about half mile south of the buoy. Lots of boat out there and pretty rough at Bonita channel on the way back.

44
Solo run from Alameda around 0600 destine for the north side. Arrived just outside Muir beach and dropped the line in. Trolled towards Duxbury buoy. I trolled passed the buoy about a mile and a half and decided to turned around. No hit at all so decided to pickup and run back where I started.

About a mile passed the Dux buoy, I started marking huge baitballs so decided to drop in and within 15 minutes I got a take down and finally got him in the net. Rebaited and dropped back down and within 20 minutes, I got the go home fish in the net. I was done around 1145.

Both fish were caught on the Anchovie on green FBR with the green sling blade/60' on the wire in 80' of h2o.

Saw 2 kayakers outside by Muir.beach in the morning, hailed them on channel 69 but no answer. Drove by them and I noticed both of them don't have any pfd. One guy only had a farmer john wetsuit and one guy had a fleece jacket on. All I can say is wow.

45
Heading up to Albion tomorrow with the wife and her hula group. Gonna be doing some ab diving and spearfishing with my brother from the island. Taking the yak and the whaler for some fun. If you're around the area, feel free to stop by and say aloha and have a cold one.
