Safety First / Re: Shark Shield Questions ???
« on: May 23, 2018, 09:24:39 AM »
I’m not affiliated with Shark Shield other than we do sale them at our shop. I’ve been to a couple of their presentations and looked at their studies and science behind the product. My takeaway is that I think they work and that out of everything on the market they are the best option. Will they work every time or deter every encounter? I wouldn’t bet on that but like I said, I think they are the best option.

In the end, sharks are a reality of kayak fishing and you either accept it and continue on or you buy a boat. For me, the Shark Shield at least gives me some piece of mind. They are pricey but less so since they lowered the price last year. They went from 650 down to 500 now.

Richard Moiola out of the SLO area is the new rep/distributor for the west. I can PM you his number if you’re interested. Maybe he’ll respond here as well.

We’ve got 63 signed up as of 5/21 with one week left for online registration. Long range forecast is looking killer at this point but still a couple weeks away, fingers crossed it stays that way. Last year was a bit nautical, haha!

No problem, Jim. We'll get you back down here eventually. Have a good trip!

Only a few weeks left and I'm getting ready to order shirts. If you are planning to and haven't, please sign up soon. Current list of anglers as of 5/11/18. If you think you have registered and don't see your name or have questions, let me know.

We've got some great gear for the HOW raffle and Central Coast HOW will be doing a fundraiser BBQ at the awards too. See you there!

There is also a second part where anglers can qualify, through the online portion or by competing in the in-person tournaments throughout the state, for a Tournament of Champions in October.

You can register and get an overview of the tournament here: https://ianglertournament.com/2018-california-saltwater-kayak-series

Or, you can get the full details at cal-salt.com

If you have questions let me know. Cheers!

For Sale / Re: Locking Kayak Straps?
« on: December 10, 2016, 07:49:02 PM »
The price you list on Amazon is full retail. The link posted earlier is Kanulocks website and all of the prices shown there are in Australian dollars. Retail on Kanulocks in US $$ is 8'=69.95, 11'=79.95, 13'=89.95, and 18'=99.95.

Ruben hit us up to see if we would help out with a group buy and we're happy to do it for those interested. This is just one alternative for securing your kayaks or boards.

Eric
