Got my buddy headed south to oxnard looking for a place to fish for anything other then batrays lol any help would be greatful thanks

Have inlaws there and have pretty much given up fishing there....fish count after 7 visits 2 bat rays and one sand bass......Have him hit a charter.

Pass on Oxnard.
Very few kayakers fish there.  Lobster is another story in October.
Go to Malibu and launch at either Leo Carillo or County line. 
There is squid there still.
Look for boats and chat it up with the other kayakers.
Go early as the wind picks up around 11 or 1 pm.
Plastics in the kelp will get you a sandbass, calico or small cuda
 for sure with this warm water and brown bait patterns work killer.
Make bait, dropper loop with 3 oz and drift between stringers.
