I claim 2 15" striper but didn't bother with pictures because they were not legal size. So didn't happen... Blown off the water by 10ish sat... No chance rest of the weekend. Blown out.... :smt009
Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!

I was monitoring the weather leading up to this weekend and it was initially great. Then it changed on Thursday and called for showers Friday night with a minor wind event on Saturday afternoon/evening. Bummer, but still the best forecast we’ve had in years for this event!

I arrived around 1700 on Friday and it was beautiful. I’ve driven past San Luis Res like 300 times in my life and it was top 10 calmest I’ve ever seen it.
After setting up my new truck tent (thanks Mike haha!) and some food & drinks, I settled up to the fire where we conducted the ceremonial Tumbleweed burning. It was a little breezy on Friday night and rained for about 30 minutes around midnight.

I got OTW around 0730 along with 6 other guys. There was a stiff breeze and ripples on the surface around 0900 then like a switch the fan turned on. It was blowing a sustained 20mph with whitecaps by 1000 and we all got off the water. The wind kept blowing. Not the normal wind with stronger gusts, just a constant raging wind storm. And it never let up. When I packed up and left at 0800 on Sunday morning it was still blowing.

We found a sheltered spot to hang out on Saturday afternoon. Interestingly enough, the downed tree & bushes provided a better wind-block than arranging our trucks & RV’s in the parking lot. Thanks nature haha! I haven’t downloaded pics from my camera yet but here are some phone pics.
Thank you Dustin for booking the site again.
