I thought the same as Michael too, so thanks for the clarification you guys!  I always thought the dodgers were the big ones, and flashers/spinners are the small ones like his pic.

How do you handle line twist then on a flasher?

SF, I spent 4 years in techsupport as my first real job in the tech world at Acer America.  I know *all* about what your talking about!  :smt006

Cool, now I need to go buy a flasher and try this stuff out!

Use heavy duty and high quality swivels!

I always thought hoochies were usually female, flashers usually male, and the Spinners...well, it's a shaaame...  :smt017

I'm well versed in how they work, I've just been calling them by the wrong name.
Michael

Hi Michael,

Sorry I don't mean to insult you.  As a Technical Support Engineer, I got used to answer technical questions in details and provide data to support it.

Sonny

No problem Sonny, I wasn't insulted - just in a hurry to get off the computer as I was going to be late getting somewhere.  My apologies for being so abrupt.

michael, the net effect of using the wrong name is that you are wrong,  :smt002.

that's the thing about being wrong, if you get any part wrong... you are wrong...  :smt003.

when wrong... best to just take the pound, and not try to wiggle out of it for pride's sake. yes, I am breaking your balls here,  :smt044.

flashers spin, either a string of tiny ones (sometimes counter-rotating to avoid twist issues with bad swivels or to obviate the need for a rudder), or a single great big one which is the one you are not familiar with or named wrong or whatever you term your mistake.

the dodgers should not spin. if they spin, you are going too fast. they come in little sizes for trout, and big sizes for salmon.

I think you can also use egg sinkers and the hoochies to make lures for the likes of dorado. The baja catch guys love the 'green hula skirt with pink panties combo' with an egg sinker in each. They 'stroke troll' them from their little boats. I don't see any way to do that from a kayak tho..
