Paradise State Park? Yeah, that's where I had gotten my first big gauge on my Revo too. I know now that if I'm going to use the boat launch, I use the ramp to get off the yak then drag the yak up. Those boat ramps are hard on the yaks in terms of big scratches.

Yup, it is a funky spot. And we were loading out at a low, low tide, had to lift up over the drop off of concrete. What'd a gonna do about it?

I still think the hobie plastic is softer, tho.  :smt004

Haha. My kayak hates Paradise and Gerstle.

I'm surprised keel protection isn't standard on all Hobie kayaks yet but I believe for one of their models it is. I just got a 2017 hobie outback and wanted to protect the keel mostly for loading /unloading without having to deal with the yoga mat. So I found someone's idea that might  be a viable solution using a product called instamorph (moldable pastic) kinda like putty when soft. Super cheap and easy to use. The pictures with the yellow instamorph are of his production and mine is the white. His turned out a lot nicer than mine but it'll do the job. Instead of using 3m double sided adhesive I decided to use marine goop. The end product seems like it'll hold.

I have Keel Eazy on my Raptor G2.  God knows that I sprint like there is no tomorrow whenever I land on the beach.  So hard, everything usually jumps when I hit the beach.  So far so good.

I saw a post not so long ago that some folks are using gorilla tape?

I like this stuff

Kind of expensive, but a little goes a long ways, it sticks tenaciously, protects well, and looks pretty good...
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

Subscribed. My poor hobie has many launches and landings to its credit. Combined with many submerged rocks and gravel bars from river floats makes for a very beat up hull. I was thinking of a truck bed liner for awhile, but decided against it.
