That's a clean and interesting setup but where is the transducer? That looks like a good solution to store battery/etc but also looks to consume a big chunk of space in the hatch as well. I know that most people glue them into the access port but the TI transducer is a beast.

Here's the set up. http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=63885.0

I am the 3rd owner, lucky me it's all rigged when I bought it.  :smt003

Can we see inside the access port?

What kind of adhesive used to secure transducer?

Few pics of the battery box and transducer mounting.  I will send some better pics of the clean up after it dried.
I used boat life fiberglass, life seal and solarez epoxy resin for fiberglass.

Hard spot to get a good picture of.

Ended up gooping the thing in place, unfortunately still have some air bubbles and haven't given it a test run yet. Luckily if it doesn't work I can pull it out easily and give the epoxy a try so I appreciate the pictures!

Do you guys think that the access port would facilitate the massive elite 5Ti transducer? The thing is approx. 7-8 inches in length. I would certainly be nice to remove the extra drag under my hull.

It should be able to accommodate the length as long as the girth is not an issue.....[emoji849]

If you go all out and cut in a new battery mounting box like Gearaddict outlines above it might be easier to fit and you probably have more room to work when you goop or epoxy the transducer in place. Another option would be install a larger access port.

Thanks for the feedback. The elite5ti xducer is the same width and height from the looks of your and certainly looks like it will fit. It's just the length I was worried about and if it would turn the corner. From the photo you posted, it looks like the pocket runs the length of the kayak. With the rain, this might be a good time to get it fitted.
