Guys:

I would like to propose a tourney in Bodega Bay (region).  I have a ranch on Gleason Beach where everyone can camp...it would be perfect...but WHEN?  The weather here is so ifffy.  You have all seen Levi's posts.   He caught a nice salmon and halibut in back to back days right off our beach.  I was thinking of late July.  The weather is usually good and the salmon come in nearshore and halibut start to bite as well... and off course rockfish and lings are game as well.  Brian and I where talking about a lauch anywhere between Tomales and Jenner and we could do a combo deal...not sure on details, but wanted to get a sense of interest.  Also not sure what day, and it maybe a situation where we shot for sometime in late July??? maybe just $$ between friends etc.

Sounds good Jim, I would be happy to help you with anything you need. We are doing HMB mid July 15th so we probably don't want to overlap but the following 2 weekends would be good. I have never fished up there and would love to give it a go.

We (Jim and I) haven't settled on dates... but we're thinking it would  either be the first or last weekend in July.   I'll be gone the end of July so I've been pushing for something a little less formal during the rockfish opener (July 1st and 2nd)... my thought is that many of us will be fishing Fort Ross, Stillwater Cove North, Saltpoint, etc.. during the opener anyway and that we'd have a money between friends with a weigh in at Jim's place in the afternoon with maybe some festivities.

Here's a link to a map of where Jim lives...

Ah yeah, 4th of July weekend... hmmm.  We wanted to keep as much temporal distance from the other tournaments (HMB and Elk) as possible which is why we initially stayed away from the 8th.

Another option would be to do it again later in the summer or early fall.  I'll still need to talk to Jim (haven't seen him at work today), ultimately it will be his choice.
