My Best Moments in the Kayak

By far on my trial run with my new Kayak on Mendo what a blessing it was meeting some of the members of NCKA. The camaraderie shown by the members that I met on the water and in the campsites gave a huge boost of encouragement to a very old and warn out ego.
I left there for Ruth Lake knowing that if I found some bait along the way that I would score some fish.
Even though those fish were small NCKA Stands Big and Tall in my mind. I felt the signs of a young ego again. So Thanks to all that I met there and will look forward to fishing with you in the future. My wife now has my kayak and I have ordered a prowler big game angler for my self. She will be joining NCKA this spring and “WE” look forward to seeing you again.
Hojoman, Mooch, FishinJay, Walrus and of course FisHunter Adam and to those I didnt get written down Thank you also.

Now that's REAL!....Glad you found your youthful ego Geno!!  I remember that day well....after we talked on the shore, ChuckE. was out on the water and heard every word we said, he made reference to "what a good salesman I was"
..it was no sale... just sharing the love.
Glad you and the wife are having fun and looking forward to crossing paddles this year.

I can only really remember the past year, so I'll have to say:

#1-heading up to Bean to meet "the usual suspects" with the plan to bring in a ling over 31". I used a 3oz red shad head & a 7" anchovy fishtrap to land one fish @ 35". The whole "plan, implement, succeed" tactic worked beautifully.

#2-hitting Bean for 2 days of the infamous "3day campout". The post fish rap session on the bluff was almost as fun as the fishing part!

#3-being one of the priveleged to fish Elk '08. Almost all my fishing friends were there. The vibe was great. Caught a 22" verm in less than 30FOW on my "hail mary" drop!

I look ahead to 2009 with anticipation, even though the pressure increases (MLPA's etc) year to year, my enjoyment still seems to keep pace and each year has it's own triumphs. In '09 it will be all about the flatties (I hope)!

I'm glad to see you're still fishing from your yak and having success! Hopefully we'll see you at some of the NCKA events in 2009!  :smt006
