For Sale / Beach Dolly for AI/TI for sale - purchased in Jan 2020
« on: September 12, 2020, 04:05:57 PM »
Hey Guys, DM if interested... Craigslist ad (url below)

Hobie Tandem Island and Adventure Island DOLLY with huge beach tires.

I bought this new in January of 2020 and only got to use it twice before selling my tandem Island. This dolly is a beast but if you have a TI or AI you need one and many of you probably know what I mean. This thing makes pulling a TI a piece of cake because the beach wheels/tires and width of the axle are so big. A kid can pull a TI with this, so makes it easy to carry to lakes or the ocean.

There's one small chip in the front corner because I ran into some stairs at oyster point the first time I used it. It makes no impact on the dolly whatsoever and does not compromise the integrity at all, purely an aesthetic thing.

This dolly goes for $669 new and I'm selling this one for 200 less because I sold my tandem Island and don't need it anymore. It's basically new and if you see it and own a AI/TI this is very nice to have and makes it easy to unload from a trailer or truck and take the large watercraft anywhere you want, even longer distances.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Shimano Tekota: New vs Old
« on: May 16, 2020, 09:54:55 AM »
Been using the tekota 600 levelwind with line counter (new version) since it came out (before last season). Overall it's been a great reel. As mentioned before the retrieve isn't the fastest but I've never experienced any issues, but I've only caught halibut and rocks & lings with it so far. For me it's this Tekota A reel and Avet MC - love them both. The one negative I've noticed is that the free spool is not excellent with 4 to 6 oz torpedo when halibut fishing, 8oz takes it down fast and easily. To be fair, I probably could keep the reel cleaner and maybe that's a factor.  Overall the tekota a 600 linecoubter is solid reel and would buy it again.  Hope this helps

I've never changed them on my TI but have seen a couple posts about this (rudder line diagram images and info) in the AI and TI Facebook group here:

Wow solid catch. Congrats  :smt006

Great Video Jae - thanks for posting.

Question - do you have a picture of how your downrigger is mounted?  I need to mount my DR this week on my TI, deciding where to do so.

Nice vid of the process. Got the hobie TI cradles as well, good to see reminder that they can crack, and to be careful of not too much weight on the rear cradles with pivoting with offload and onload  :smt004
