Stealth / Stealth factory blems avail.
« on: January 30, 2023, 01:52:01 PM »
Hey Y'all, bad news for me = good news for you? Maybe. If you've been thinking about joining the Stealth Tribe but you're a couple a bucks short, then this post is for you. I have a couple of kayaks that have minor cosmetic issues that I'm willing to offer to NCKA members at a nice discount. This is kind of a locals only thing for now so message me here (or text me 707-569-6139) asap if you're interested.

First come, first served.

Stealth / Re: Damage on stealth. Thoughts?
« on: July 16, 2022, 11:42:26 AM »
Hey John, sorry to hear about this. It all looks totally doable, repair wise.

I have reached out to the factory for their opinion and recommendation. The black area looks like it's just in the gelcoat which is a vinyl ester resin. I'll have to get the color code for the black. The green may need a full seem repair, take a look here -

The tape that runs over the seam is a 5mm glass tape made from same fibers as a glass cloth but stitched into a roll of tape. The lime green is a P525 -Lime green supplied by NCS resins systems.

You got this!

Stealth / Re: Stealth Live-well hatch

Eddie, curious as to what you're using for the drain extension.  My 525 just came with plugs so I've been on the lookout for a tight-fit drain tube.  With just the plugs out, I'd guess the hatch fills to ~2.5" in the front, maybe 3.5" in back because of its shape.  Fine for smaller bait, but it could definitely fill at least a couple gallons more...

CJ, I got you brother. That kayaks should have had a tube in the livewell. Hit me up and come by, I'll give you one.

oh, is there any touch up paint or should I hit the nail polish section? :smt005 :smt006

Sorry, no touch up materials available. It's all hand mixed at the factory and once it's mixed there's no shelf life. Apparently even the components only last a few weeks under refrigeration. Must be some good chit.

Apologies for the thread-jack, 3mo

What would be the purpose of counter sinking? Seems to me that counter sinking is just weakening your attachment point on a hull that is intentionally as thin as possible. That sounds like a really bad idea to me.

Hey Y'all, just to clarify, I have one orange Fusion 480 and one grey and white Fisha 460 still available. There's been mild interest in both.

Fishkraft - have you had one out on the water, what do you think? Is the weight of 72 pounds an issue for handling?
Unfortunately I have not been able to get on the water in ages. All the reports from the Southern Hemisphere sites are good. No mention of weight issues.

Stealth / Re: Stealth Fisha Fixed Rudder Questions
« on: March 10, 2020, 10:36:29 PM »
Has anyone ever removed the rudder altogether? not necessarily as a permanent thing but just as a test to see the behavior of the boat or perhaps as rare occasion where you might want to eliminate it for the day such as stoney launch sites or again large kelp beds that are tough to avoid or even targeted to fish within.

Again I dont mean to spur all the consequences that would be invited by doing such a thing but Im curious since the rudder design
does invite some constant attention or care.
Please go easy on me as Im just wondering since kayak fisherman tend to try just about anything to help get on the spots they like to fish and simply have little fear about trying something unconventional. Thats really half the fun of how we enjoy the sport in general.

There's no reason you couldn't do that but I've fished the massive kelp beds on the windward side of San Clemente without any real issues. The trick was to just pedal the rudder back and forth as you're paddling through the super thick stuff.

Definitely roto-mouled, we've been working on the design for a while now and there are still more surprises to come. I think we'll able to put a few in the next container if the production schedule works out. I'm so stoked I've been wanting this for a long time. It's gonna be a badass addition to the line up.

Whoa now... don't get too excited. All I meant was that I had just had the same idea.
