I managed to snap the tip section of a Ross Flystik 6wt between the 2nd and 3rd guides.  Ross has since gotten out of the fly rod business, and I don't think they will warranty the rod.  Does anyone know of a good fly rod repair shop that can fix it ?

I got the rod on closeout, so I should probably just give up on it, but sentimental value and all that :)

You might have some options with Raptor Rod Works in Chico.  They've repaired several of my rods.   Telephone 530 849 2062

Contact Ross and don't go by "I don't think they will" until you know for sure.

"FOR ALL ROSS FLY RODS, PLEASE CONTACT US DIRECTLY FOR ANY QUESTIONS"

Thanks, I've read some good reviews of Raptor Rod Works, will give them a call.

btw I saw this on the Ross site :

"Q: Are Ross fly rods available for warranty service?

A: No. As of January 15, 2016, Ross Rods are no longer available for warranty service. All fly rods were discontinued on July 15, 2016 and all supplies for service were available through January 15, 2016. As of November 1, 2016, all warranty supplies are exhausted. Please contact us for more information regarding your options."

I sent them an email noting the area of breakage and asking if they knew of any other repair shops.

Well that's kind of dick-y.

Not a huge deal, I got the rod cheap on Sierra Trading Post, knowing full well there was little to no chance of warranty service.

Ross' reply was that if I send the rod back they would check if they had any spare tips lying around, or offer me a discount on a new reel.  That is something anyway.  I just need more reels like I need a hole in the head  :smt002
