Hey Everyone...where do people go clamming at up north? I have heard there are some good mud flats near Dillon Beach? Any advice would be appreciated.
 Thanks,
 Andrew

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

There's also decent clamming in Bodega Bay. Just a few miles north of Dillon.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Andrew,
Give me a little notice and I will try to come with you and show you the ropes.  I am going to write a tutorial but I just haven't done it yet.  Talk to you soon.

I have been clamming Dillon Beach for about five years.  There are lots of tastey clams; some of them are damn big.  We always launch at Lawson's Landing, but there are other places to launch.  There is a sand bar in Tomales Bay across from Lawson's Landing, which is where we always clam.  It is a pretty serious operation: we use a shovel, a home made sand-sucker, and a 16" diameter PVC tube (about three feet long).  It helps to have long arms.  See pics ...
