Good to hear that John is giving discounts. I got my kayaks from him 5 years ago. I have also bought a bunch of accessories from him as well as getting warrenty stuff done over the phone.

I refuse to buy anything at full retail.  I work in sales and I am familiar with the mark ups.  10% off is only a gesture.

I am in sales as well, but don't claim to familiar with the markups of every industry... what do you sell?  Hobie products seem to be pretty well MAP priced as they are pretty much the same everywhere you go.

I sell door hardware.  I understand many manufacturers set their prices for the retailers but it doesn't change the fact that I do not ever pay retail.

When I was shopping for a kayak I got a price from the local shop and one from an online dealer.  The online dealer was in Oregon so there was no sales tax and free shipping.  My savings was going to be over a hundred dollars.  If the local shop had offered to throw in a cheap paddle to sweeten the deal I would have gone for it.

Lucky for me I found one almost brand new on Craig's List and saved over $400.

I'm super stoked to let everybody know that WINDTOYS is now going to be a Jackson Kayak Dealer.
John (owner) and his crew (Marty and Andy) are very excited about carrying the JK brand.
Their main store is in Santa Rosa but they just opened up a new store in Sausalito.
They should have their first shipment of JK kayaks sometime next week.
