A couple of weeks ago, I finally got started rigging my Hobie Adventure.  I wanted to fish it a few times to get a feel for where everything should go.  I'm still not ready to drill a lot of holes so this set up is still temporary.  The cables are going through the front hatch.  Talk about a bird's nest!  When I find my ideal configuration, I'll use a cable cam through the hull.  That should pretty her up!

I'd love to hear feedback on what works for others.

Here's some pics for now:

The pedals while great for speed and range sure take up room.  The RAM mount is a great way to work around them!

Cables through hatch.  Did the same thing with my T120 and Tupperware hatch.  This should be more secure!
Rigged Hobie Adv-6

Temp GPS home using a suction cup.  Took the suction cup off a water-skier down flag from Boaters World.  Perfect fit.  Let's hope it holds.  A bit ghetto...

I'll probably permanently mount the antenna near the back hatch and run the cables down one side.

Looks good so far. I'm not up to drilling holes in my mirage yet either, but in a couple of weeks, my GPS/fishfinder unit is showing up and I'll have to mount it. I just may put in right on the front hatch to keep it away from the peddles, that way ican keep the wires short and sweet.

Hey splashdown,

I figured a sweet way to rig the fish finder without drilling and it's removable.  I haven't had the time to post pictures, but before you start send me a pm.

Looks fairly easy to do; but I'm an engineer and we all know how bad "we" are with tools in hand. Thanks Danglin.
More parts to get for the kayak. Like the saying states, " a boat is a hole in the water to sink money into." Does that apply to kayaks?

Kayak rigging is a big part of the fun of owning a kayak. You can be creative and have it just the way YOU want it.
One way to take care of that birds nest of cable is to stuff all the excess in a small dry bag.
I keep my 10AA battery pack in a waterproof container and then put that and the excess cable in a small dry bag. Works great.
