Title: Bodega Bay Crab Poaching
Post by: SlackedTide on November 06, 2017, 05:57:38 PM
Just a heads up, like every season we have those People doing what they shouldn’t be doing. Caught douche bag in a Red 18’ Tracker Aluminum Boat picking up pots that wasn’t his. He was doing it next to my pots. When I got there he skirted real fast n left dodge and went to  where I couldn’t see him. Couldn’t get a pic cause he left so fast . But since I’ll be going there plenty of times I’ll be posting his vessel number n pics of the boat if I see him again.

I'm there a lot too.
Every year there's always a few idiots stealing pots, crabs, or etc...

On Saturday, I had two boats zoom by me within 10'.  I get the idiocy on the opening day... so I don't let it get to me.  But it still happens throughout the season.  Talked to another kayaker who also owns a boat.  Says the local boat guys hate kayaks around Bodega and Doran.

I don’t mind the kayakers it’s the idiots who go full speed through the jetty’s like they’re driving a race car. And the people who steal from others. Witnessed a coast guard rescue today too. Don’t know what happend but they had the chopper out .

I saw the Coast Guard in n out a few times on Saturday and Sunday.  All in all, it seemed less eventful for them this opening weekend than usual.

Ha!

I used to keep one of those chrome stem cap + removers on hand for just such things, but fortunately never had enough opportunity/reason/moxy to use it.

Probably because it's chickenshit?  You'd lose your man card if you used it.

Radio in to the  Coast Guard on those boats that like to see how close they can get.  If nothing else they'll have them for boating intoxicated.
