I'm not sure how this will work but I'm not a fan of the way the cover opens,so in my spare time at work I threw this together it's all 316ss and I can adjust the tension so it stays up with out holding it up.So what do you Jackson guys think? This is my proto type if it works out I will run some tricked out billet alum sets.

Jayson and I were talking about doing that at the shop the other day. We were thinking of doing the hinges on the side. Looks great!

Strong Work!!!

For some reason I really like the idea of a hinged Hatch Cover. I'm pretty sure I am sold on the Cuda 14, and your hinged Hatch Cover looks like a modification I will be doing almost immediately. I know the stock system works fine, but having it hinged seems like it would be much more convenient. I hate to admit, but I can picture myself taking the Hatch Cover completely off on the wrong day without thinking about it, and having it blow away or something...

 Thanks for the inspiration... :smt001

Mike - just stumbled across this; nice work!  IMHO; the center hatch lid is definately an area for improvement on the Jackson's.  Would hope to see them incorporate rails and lift in future editions.  In the interim - you nailed the lift part!
