Thanks, thats some good stuff, I've been fiending for hali/striper season to start.  Only 10 more weeks till the fat female hali's come in, stripers will be all around berkeley.  I'm seriously praying for a less windy spring with more of the tides we've seen during the winter.  Last year, the water was murky and the wind was howling making it very sketchy to go out to the very end of old berkeley pier.  My live bait bucket and aerator behind me made the trip a little more nasty.  The bait tube idea is smooth, with anchovies, the foam comes out of the top of the bucket, the bucket also adds weight and takes up valuable space behind my seat, last year I tried grabbing bait when the water was rough and nearly took a swim.  Thanks Eric for starting this thread.  JTF..

I'm familiar with the normal bait tube with end caps.  Does this torpedo design have less drag due to the eye bolt centered on the tube, and that is the major difference?

I honestly haven't even had it in the water to try it out yet.  It's not claimed to be any better than the other designs... just how I happened to make mine.

I took my bait tube out for a test run at Buck's Saturday. I had it in the water while I was anchored fishing..ZERO slap on the hull. I forgot it was in the water and pulled anchor and started paddling. Didn't notice any drag at all. I didn't realize it was out until I anchored in a different location and noticed an extra rope over the side.
I will be taking this thing with me every time I fish with live bait.

And I have used a bait tube with two end caps (with holes drilled on each side of the end cap), and no holes drilled on the actually ABS pipe/tube and I get a lot of drag when paddling, it slows me down noticeable .
