A for the bilge pump, ever since I rolled and lost a rear hatch and then got swamped out at HMB a few years ago, I carry one.  I have it bungeed where if I get tossed and need it, I can get to it quickly.  Lesson learned the hard way.

During my hiatus, I delved deeper into making "wonder woman's" kayak.
It was obvious that this boat wouldn't be roto-molded. So, I consulted a few of my brainiac friends and they came to the same conclusion. This boat needs to be 3D printed as one piece with the solar panels, wiring for electronics, and lights inside the hull material instead of just under the surface. One of these triple digit IQs already has a few deltabots and has already planned on building a even bigger printer for larger scale projects.
The question now is what material could be used that can take the abuse that I deliver on my boats and still be light enough to be practical. Ive been experimenting with UV resins as a "on adventure"  kayak repair solution and hope that it might lead somewhere.
Could roto-molding PE be replaced by 3D printing using resins?
I don't know yet. Will depend on time, materials, and cost. But I do believe that a 1 piece  kayak can be printed someday.

Just a short follow up and some minor hope that this boat will show up at maker faire.

That would be rad. A locally made pedal drive without all the BS that Hobie makes their dealers jump through. Sign me up!

Hey Terry - I work with a lot of 3D print vendors and do a lot of ordering of 3D prints here at work, as well as running a small desktop SLA and a manufacturing sized Polyjet machine. An entire 3D printed kayak printed from a clear resin would probably be in the $60,000 range. Also, most of the clear/see through technology is SLA and I don't think there is even an SLA machine with a build platform anywhere near big enough to print a kayak, currently.

I order clear/see through tracking models of human aortas and they run anywhere from $1,000 - $2500.

Thanks Mr Hopper, I had feelers that the price tag on reality would be steep.
Add the cost of the giant printer required to make this boat and then the solar panels, electronics, lights, aft helideck for the drone, etc.. and this boat would need to be called the Steve Austin signature model.

I was able to find a 3D printed kayak but it was kin to a lego project and made of ABS.

Maybe this type of fantasy & technology would be more suited with one of the folding kayak companies since they are made from flat panels to begin with.  Interesting ideas never the less.

Not a kayak but conceptually closer. Needs scuppers and a lawn chair.
