Hi guys just picked up  a dragon fly7pro was wondering how to mount the transducer, in hull or on a ram rod? any suggestions. I have multiple yaks so would like to be able to move it easily from yak  to yak.
Thanks

Thanks psherman, just looking at this product, have you had any experience with it? Reading the reviews says that it flexes in the water, giving transducer false reading?

Not personally but a buddy has it on his inflatable dinghy using a Scotty mount and its mounted in the back. It didn't look like it was flexing. He seems happy with it.
I wouldn't recommend using the slip disks as that may create some "flexing".

This is with a Lowrance transducer but since I have upgraded to the Raymarine Dragonfly 4 which works well. I used a Scotty mount with a Scotty oar lock and a flat bar of stainless.

Hi Bruddah,
I ran into the same problem when I upgraded to a Hook 5 w/ a HDI Transducer. I first bought the Scotty Transducer mount, but did not like how flimsy it felt. So I ordered a Ram Transducer mount and had to shorten the flexible aluminum rod so that the Transducer did not stick out below the bottom hull. I have it mounted to a Scotty flush mount on my 2014 Hobie Oasis Tandem which is not Lowrance Ready under the scupper hole.
I end up liking it better because I could bend the bar closer to side of the hull and it feels more solid than the Scotty mount.
Here's some pics, haven't tried it out yet.

Vise and jack saw. It's a flexible aluminum rod and very easy to cut.
Good Luck,
Michael

With the side mount, do you have any issues with not tracking bottom?

if it swims, fish it.
