There's a coupon in today's Contra Costa Times for $10.00 off a $25.00 purchase at the new Dick's that opened this weekend, across the freeway from the Livermore Outlet mall.  They have a pretty good selection of fishing gear, including a salt water section with a few Big Hammer swim baits.  Since  Outdoor Pro Shop closed in Oakland, there haven't been too many choices for tackle in the area. This is nothing like OPS but far better than the other chain sporting goods stores in the area.  My purchase was actually a little short of the $25.00 required for the $10.00 coupon, but I was given the discount with a smile and no hassle.  I think this is gonna be my go-to store for tackle.

Sonny,  nothing exciting, just a few swim baits, swivels and some Pro-Cure.  I just didn't want to pass up the $10.00 off coupon.  Daviator and I might hit TC Tuesday.

Good lucks guys.  Wish I can join but got an early flight on Wednesday for an out- of-state interview.

The only other Big Hammer spot in the area is Sport Chalet. They only carry the 3 and 4" ones. Every time I'm in there I nag them to order some 5 and 6" ones. I keep telling them there is a market for them. Hopefully Dicks puts the 6 inches out for display ;)

Damn!  I'm surprised it didn't take the top off of my head as it went over!  You know they bought Chick's Sporting Goods in Socal.  Would that be Chick's with Dicks??

I went there yesterday and except for hooks, their saltwater tackle was not very extensive. Like everybody else, they didn't have any ammo that I wanted either.
