Kayak (bright color - better visibility)
paddle (stick glow in the dark stickers on each blade - for night or early morning visibility)
spare paddle (a cheap one that you can store inside your hatch)
paddle leash
bicycle flag (for even better visibility from other boaters when the swells are huge)
PFD (bright color - better visibility)
wet suit (farmer john - 3 mil)
water proof wind breaker (to wear on top of the farmer john)
paddle gloves
neoprene boots
wide -brimmed water- proof breathable hat
sunglasses / polarized (with keeper leash)
dive knife (secured to life vest)
signal device (flare fun,strobe lights)
safety whistle (attach to PFD)
VHF (strapped to PFD)
fishing license (attach to PFD)
fish finder with battery
cell phone or sat phone (store inside accessible drybag)
GPS
compass (for back-up if GPS battery dies)
pliers & wire cutters (multi tool - leatherman)
gaff / net
burlap sack or fish stringer / game clip
fishing tackle (secured to the kayak)
bait (store in zip lock)
rods & reels (secured to the kayak)
food / water / energy bars (store in dry bag)
water proof sun block
head lamp / water tight flash light
Bow line / stern line
anchor (with anchor line float)
drift chute
bilge pump / sponge
wheels
First aid kit
heavy duty wire cutter (just in case a hook sticks you)

- here's another one: if you are going on a solo trip - make sure you leave a notice / note of where you are fishing and when you intend to be back with immediate family or friends. (an email will do too)

 - a fresh water filled spray bottle to clean your reels once your out of the water  :smt023
