The memorial for Aaron Hull will be on 07/30 at 11:30 am at 220 Cloister Ln, Aptos 95003 @ Cathedral off of Trout Gulch.

Aaron has been an inspiration and help to many of us over the years. A fishing album of Aaron's will be there. We are having photos printed to add to the album. If you have photos of Aaron please email today to kmarple@pacbell.net or bring them to the service.

Seems most of the time I fished with him, we didn't take many photos. I'll search though.

The family has requested any donations in Aaron's memory be made to his brother Dylan's college fund.  A form is attached for this purpose.

Also at the request of the family, several of Aaron's friends have retrieved his fishing and kayaking related gear.  While some will be retained by friends and for family for sentimental reasons as well as the super fishing mojo Aarons gear carries with it.  Other items will be sold by several of us primarily over the NCKA classified with proceeds going to Dylan's college.   Aaron's wife and family want this gear to be used and appreciated the way Aaron did.  We will be posting things over the next few days...or weeks.

I hope that the NCKA community can step up to support the family in this way.  I also want to get a large NCKA group paddle out organized in Aaron's memory as our own symbolic way of saying goodby to our friend/brother.  Not sure when this will happen but a large circle of kayaks will be nice.

That would be fine.  I or any of the other guys that were close to Aaron would be happy to deliver any contributions.

A small group of paddlers and family put Aaron Hull's remains to rest at one of his favorite fishing spots Sunday.  Aaron's sister Dona spread his ashes from his kayak among the giant kelp, jellies and rockfish he loved so much as several of us gathered around and gave our final respects and Aaron's wife Suzue and others watched from the bluff top.  Aaron will always be at the place he loved most and we can visit him there.  He will however always be with me on every fishing and kayaking trip I go on where ever that is for for the rest of my life.

We will find a way for all of us to share his memory together in a more public way in the not to distant future.

Good by my friend...... :smt010 :smt010 :smt009 :smt006 :smt010 :smt010 :smt010 :fishing2 :smt010

Very Sad news when I saw this post I had no idea that this had even happened.

I have fished with Aaron multiple times in Big Sur and have always had a great time with him on the water. I think the last trip I had with him was at Willow last summer with a nice limit for all that were there.

May he RIP...

Beautiful Memorial on the water.

His family will stay in my prayers.

Thanks for posting up. So perfect to have Aaron's sister Donna paddle his Trident 13 with his ashes onboard on his last trip to Big Sur. Condolences to his family, especially his wife Suzue who he loved so much. Thank you Eugene and Nathan for the dozens of white roses which now adorn the calm waters of Lucia and thank you Ken for organizing and letting Karen, Molly and I stay at your house. A fitting end for someone we have loved and admired for so many years and a cherished member of the Big Sur Commandos. When you pass through Lucia, say a prayer for Chef and Aaron for they will always be in are hearts and minds.

Thanks for sharing the details with all of us Etienne.  I will download the form to make a donation to Dylan's college fund....

Aaron's wife was in my office today but I have never met her before and didn't feel comfortable going up and introducing myself while she was there taking care of important business....I made sure I assigned my best, most compassionate employee to help her out.... :smt009

I look forward to the paddle out.

RIP Aaron.

Sincerely,

Jim
