Free to get into 17 mile drive or no goes.

Working on getting that taken care of for all who come out to participate...and more...stand by for confirmed details...

I think it would be great if we also pick up the trash/junk along with the golf balls.

Maybe a few non divers can kayak (those fast peddle ones) out and haul loads back. Make it a team effort? My yak is in the shop with a broken seat, but I'll come out and help out if needed.

Picking up any other trash found out there would of course be awesome!!

I don't imagine we will get so many balls/trash that we would need yaks to ferry loads back to shore but if any non-divers want to provide top-side support by grabbing balls and putting them in bags etc that would be awesome.

Top side "safety" support of being on VHF and keeping an eye on folks would obviously be cool but I really don't think it will be necessary...

If the ocean is nasty we can work inside the cove along the north edge of Arrowhead...

Help back on beach with counting balls/keeping score/directing people where to go, where to park etc would be helpful as well.

We will of course be chilling and BBQing on beach afterwards, and I let the PBC lady know that when we were talking yesterday.  :smt003 :smt004

Kayak Connection and Red Triangle Spearfishing will also be donating something to motivate folks to get as many balls possible.

I like the idea but I'm looking at it from the angle of.....your club is in serious violation of national marine sanctuary polution regulations, we're going to be providing you a free service that would otherwise cost you a couple hundred grand (along with feel good publicity) to help rectify thee situation.....the least you can do is provide me with the tools I need to do the job" :)

Yeah, but I'm trying to focus on just being a good steward of an area I love and enjoy.  :smt008

PBC does a great job IMO of keeping the beaches free and clean of any trash, having trash and recycling containers for visitors (us), doggie poo bags available and bathrooms for visitors (us).

It's one of the beaches/areas I visit the most so am stoked on having an opportunity to help out and give back...and I think everybody who comes out to help will be stoked on what they are going to give us as prizes.  :smt001

You can borrow my banks board if you need to Art.  :smt002

Note smilies.....mostly joking and wishful thinking there jim.

I'd participate regardless, I've done cleanup paddles in alviso and really need to get going on the guadalupe, that place is a dump from all the hobos that camp along it.

I really like stillwater as a public resource as well but I'm not at all convinced that pebble beach gives two craps about us plebes maybe this will help change their opinion of us  :)

Thanks Art!

Yes, one of my hopes is that this will help relationships between "us" and "them"...

So far my conversations with "them" have all been very positive.

ps...with this bum knee my muffintop is coming back with a vengeance.  :smt009 :smt010 :smt005 :smt044 :smt044

I was thinking more of giving those of us that don't dive, but fish (there) a chance to help.
