I've never fished Shasta and spots are far from my specialty, but this sounds like a cool event.  Ban the use of live bait to keep it legit  :smt004.

NO MINNOWS/NO LIVE BAIT!!!!!    :smt001
This is one tournament where ANYBODY has a legit shot to win, even against one of the Amayse'ing bros!  :smt003
A whacky rigged senko or drop-shotted roboworm can put you on fish all day long in the spring on Shasta Lake, finding the fish won't be a problem, it will just be weeding through the 12-14"ers.  A pair of 16s with an 18" kicker can win each day.

I can give you a few more details, there will be captains/mates bags, t-shirts, raffle tickets included with entry.

It is artificial lure only, we are going to use https://www.ianglertournament.com/ for registration and real time tracking.

Four launch sites (not narrowed down yet), Captains meeting Friday night.

Hawg trough required.

$100 early entry, $125 late entry.

Everything above expenses will go to HOW. We are looking to purchase a trailer, two or three kayaks, plus pdf's, paddles and fishing rods. Good cause.

Because Lake Shasta is US Forest Service we not only need a Ca DFW permit but USFS permit also. We have both but USFS requires approval of all official postings on web sites, social media and in print. We are waiting for their approval of our published material before opening up registration. Basically they have to see that event is open to everyone and meets US government civil rights law i.e. no discrimination.

This sounds awesome, thanks for putting it on. P.M. me if you need any help with anything.
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Thanks Tim, if you aren't going to fish the tournament would be great to have your help. We will need people to stand-by at the various launch sites, assist with check-ins and also looking for a couple people with power boats to be on lake.
