Hi guys, Friend of mine is looking into the caribbean and wanted to ask the differences between the 12 and the 14. Anyone have any practical differences they want to share besides the specs? Much appreciated. He is based in New Jersey and will be trolling for stripers mainly. and some black fish porgy as well.
Thanks :smt006

Hi. I own a C14 and love it. I have never paddled a C12 but I would guess the length will add alittle speed and weight.

C14 is 50 lbs. I think the C12 is 45 lbs.

I have a c12. It's great for diving and jigging but falls short on long distance trolling. especially with a down rigger.

How does your c14 troll?

The only trolling I have done in this boat has been toplinning in fresh water. It worked :smt001
I don't fish for ocean salmon so I have no opinion on that.
I will say now that I have the Eddyline the Viking hasn't seen as much action.
