Well, I snapped the cable of the chain on the front fin of my Mirage Drive today.  Does anyone where I can get a replacement chain?  It looks easy to install.

Thanks for the help...

I'm not sure which is closer to you, but you can try calling:

Sunrise Mountain Sports - Livermore
California Canoe & Kayak - Sacramento
Adventure Sports - Sacramento

All sell Hobies and are suppose to carry spare parts.

Thanks ChuckE.

I tried Adventure Sports, but they wanted me to bring it in so they could "order" the right part.  I'm checking on-line, but no luck yet.  Sent an e-mail to Hobie Headquarters, probably won't hear from them until next week.

I'll try the otehr places you suggested.

Thanks again.

That's a little lame of Adventure Sports.  They could have easily looked up the part number.  The chain/cable assembly (part# 81201) by itself sells for retails for $48 or $95 for the whole repair kit.

Is your Outback still under warranty?  If so, just call Hobie for a free replacement.

Thanks thanks thanks...I'll get one ordered ASAP.   Meanwhile, I get a chance for an upperbody workout for a change!  I called the other shops...they didn't have any Mirage Drive Parts available.  I think my Hobie Sport is still covered under warranty.  I'll call them Monday.

BOO-YAH!  It's fixed!  Thanks troller!  I got the part Friday afternoon and installed it myself (I'm horrible with mechanical gizmos).  Looks like tomorrow will be a good day on the water.

Thanks again.

I broke a drive sprocket at Bean on 9/5 and ordered the part from Sunrise Mountain in Livermore.  I'm still waiting.  Nice to know that Wind Toys has parts.

Windtoys has lots of parts and has the new sprocket and screw in masts in stock. They are realy quite easy to switch out. Takes less than twenty minutes, if all the other pieces of the drive are in good shape.
