Yesterday a friend of mine who has a trash/hauling business gave me about 15 rods and a box full of misc tackle (pre-tied leaders, sinkers and a couple of reels) from the clean out jobs he has done.
There is the possibility of more coming my way too!

I would like to donate to a kids fishing program but don't know where to start looking , I know there is a couple out there, but when I heard about them, well I just don't remember...  :smt003 My CRS ( can't remember $hit...) is acting up...  :smt003
I thought some of you could point me in the right direction.

Most of the stuff is pretty old, but for a kid starting out would be perfect.

I need to clean them up a little, organize the tackle, and find a new home for them.

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

There is a Cast4Kids group in the area.  I think they are located in Brentwood or something like that.

Contact info for one of their leaders is there.

Or look for events at

I am a Rotarian and combined with Fish and Game and our local Park and recreation we hold Fishing in the City program in Vallejo, most of the stuff we use are purchased all together because we want the kids to learn in the same equipment, you may want to locate your local boy scouts and they are more likely to use them.
Thanks for the though, but the boy scouts or another youth club may be a better fit for it.
our Junior Anglers of The Year participants are more likely to use their parents older gear giving the parents an excuse to upgrade.
