Hey guys,
Moo and I are considering, or in the works with, putting together a small "Meet and Greet" at HMB kayaks, somewhere in HMB Harbor. Since it is that time of the year for Salmon, we are thinking of putting together a small seminar on Salmon Fishing (Moo's portion) and a Sushi Demonstration by TLA. Of course there will also be some fishing.
There will also be a small portion for open questions, for those new to the kayak fishing scene. Feel free to ask us or other season anglers questions to make you a better angler. Let us know if you guys would be interested so we can figure out the logistics.

So are we supposed to meet up after fishing at 12(?) at HMB kayak or the building on the edge of the parking lot near the pier that pops up when I googled the address?
-
In! I've always wanted some HMB intel. Looking forward to it.

Like my past fish and learn events, everyone is free to launch at 7 a.m. for sooner if you want. The morning is free to fish as you please. I will be around HMB kayaks til around 8 a.m.
for those who want to just ask me a few questions about where to go, what to use etc...
The goals is to get back at 12p.m. to HMB kayaks where i'll have a canopy and table for the seminar, demo, potluck. ETC...
It's gonna be a chill event. Hope that clarifies things. I'll update the event page to reflect this. --Keith
-
Brand new to the forum and this event will be my second time fishing in the ocean. Theres a lot I need to learn so looking forward to this.
-
Right on Keith thanks for the clarification.
Going to be my first time launching at HMB Kayak, almost exclusively launched at the old "Old Pier" when fishing here in the past. Looking forward to getting back to this spot as part of a group.
-
How's conditions looking?

It's a little far out to forecast conditions at this point.

I’ll be there too, looking forward to hanging out, thanks for organizing this Keith! [emoji1360][emoji1360]

Request for those who are coming. Can someone bring a few tables to the event. I have a smaller car and transporting tables up will be a little challenging. Let me know if anyone can assist. Thanks a ton. --TLA

You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose? Neighbors?...weather?...maybe there’s a fat spawner in the harbor? Hope sumpin’ works out... :smt006

What do y’all think about the forecast?
Definitely out of my comfort level - sadly, I think I'm going to have to pass on this one. Was really looking forward to it.

Yea, I would have to agree.

Hey guys, I've been monitoring the forecast all week. It's calling for a windy day, but it's hard to really know until we get there with the changing system, so it's a tough call for us.
We decided the show must go on!!! (Seminar portion!!)
Moo and I are going to focus more on the Seminar portion of the event. I will add in some additional topics such has halibut, or even White Sea Bass. I will also cover other areas such as safety and tips to get started in Kayak Fishing.
We will close it off with a community chill season.
That's the Plan B. So hopefully catch you guys out there for the Seminar/ Chill/ and Demo. --TLA

Good times, wish I could make it... :smt006

Same, forecast looks pretty bad. Would have to pass on this one. Was looking forward to it.

I'll stop by :smt006 . Probably no fishing for me but might throw spinners for fun

Dang, was really hoping to get out and fish HMB with the group but gonna have to sit this one out due to the crappy marine forecast.

Yes, but we will probably start putting things together at 11 am. Moo will be there preparing for his seminar. I have my part memorized so I do other things.
We will be going over alot of things so even if we can't fish there is still a lot of value in coming out to meet the community and enjoy the day. --Tla

Awesome - See you there.

Count me in!

hmmm, that's a long haul for me from Oakland if there's no chance of fishing...I may have to reconsider....so 7am launch is cancelled and it is now a seminar at noon?

You wont be able to fish anywhere if you consider OAK to HMB as long haul. :smt005 Sometime we drive more than 6HRS to fish, even then the weather turn shitty. The chill always worth it.

Consider the 7 a.m. launch as a hook up. You decide your own comfort level. My tolerance is generally pretty high, but i shouldn't be considered normal. LOL.
I will go in the morning and check out the weather and make my call in the morning for myself. Either way, the noon seminar/ chill and demo is going to happen. Moo will be at HMB to greet and meet those who choose to attend. I will also be around.
I hope that clarifies what is happening tomorrow. --TLA

Sorry Keith!
Something came up and won't make it to the event. Next time bro.
-
Wellll, IÂ’m more hardcore than Keith and this one is looking way past my taste in SOT kayak with gusts to 30 mph starting at 8am and increasing throughout the day from there. Now for windsurfing, itÂ’s great!

Hey Darius, you would drive 6 hrs and stand around in pajamas and crocs :smt044 :smt044
If I live in Oakland I would fish Pacifica, HMB and around the Bay Area 3-4 times a week like James Mi :smt003 :smt003

Leaving the West Side SC
On my way up w/ surf rod, snacks and ice cold Coors Light
W/o yak
+ jacket for wind

Yakity,yakity,yak...no problem driving 10 hrs to fish, but the odds of actually fishing need to be greater than 2%!! :smt009

So Happy to Participate
Disappointed in Darius’ lack of proper attire

Beautiful event! Thanks for putting on a great show, TLA and Moo, I enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, my wife learned what a Stealth kayak really costs. Otherwise, everything is cool...
-
Had a blast today. Learned a lot of great information. Met some good people and had great food and the after coffee party. Looking forward to fishing with you guys. Might go tomorrow and cruise the harbor if you know what I mean.
