I would love to get out chasing some halibut in Tomales bay this week.  I can make any week day work other than Wednesday.  I will be leaving from Vallejo and can fit one more angler's gear in my truck.  I have never fished Tomales, but have done some reading and fished for halibut in other locations.  Holler if interested!

Cheers,
Joseph

Caught a small halibut out in Benicia today, now I really have the itch!

there hasn't been a halibut caught in tomales in a long while, water is pretty cold, doesn't mean they aren't there, but its a long shot, better to fish somewhere else, cameron

Thanks for the heads up, I will check conditions for a few other areas.  I am still tempted to give it a go if the conditions are nice, it has been on my list for a while now.  Thursday looks like the day.

I was OTW at Tomales to check it out for a few hours yesterday morning - no bites and water was 55-57F.  Paradise might be another option.

If you can find bait, the water at Tomales is 5 degrees warmer at the Marconi launch on the inside of Tomales and I've read that larger halibut travel longer distances. I am adding a no catch disclaimer on this intel.... :smt005

Thanks for the updated reports guys! I still have a seat open for a fishing companion.  As you said--as long as I can catch some quality bait I should have a chance.  I am not 100% set on Tomales... just want to get to get some salt on the line before I have to move this weekend.

Any 'good' spots to soak crab pots on Tomales. We're boating it and launching at Nicks (Miller Park ).
