I finally got around to installing my Humminbird 365i FF on my ride. I wanted to be able to easily reach the unit without having to scoot forward, so I mounted it on the center hatch cover. I backed the head unit mount with an old cutting board I had in my camping box. The battery is placed in the storage area below the center hatch and behind a ridge that I have to believe was made for that purpose. I went with a 5ah battery for weight saving, but a 7.5 would fit perfectly. I went through the storage compartment with the transducer to access the hull and decided on the foam block technique. Lastly I fastened the remaining piece of the cutting board on the hatch cover for slicing limes for my beer. Cheers.

NOW I know why the beers Chadrock hands out always taste like squid! I thought it was the sea air.
Nice instal and observation on that anti-slide bar in the center hatch for the battery/box Chad. You guys are teaching me more stuff about our boats that RTM never mentioned. Most of those little design features can really make a big difference. I got some catching up to do in the rigging department and really appreciate your input.
In all fairness though, Tiny's Abaco 4.20, named "F/V-The Other Woman", is so pimped out that he should be wearing a big rimmed hat, lotsa bling and paddling with a strut when he fishes it. I can't wait to see him with a giant salmon in his lap.

Sweet install! Very clean. A customer bought an Abaco the other day I am sure he is going to love seeing this. One question, do you plan on putting the battery in some type of dry box or just leaving it like that?

Hey Victor, as for now I do not plan to do anything to the battery other than grease the heck out of the terminals. Batteries are cheap. I do plan to cut a piece of wood or something to fill the space to the right of the battery to keep it from sliding side to side. If corrosion becomes a huge problem I will come up with something.
