BTW, I think all of the posts about the toxins are inteligent and helpful for everyone, so dont get me wrong, if I post a report about fish that are questionable, all veiws are welcome.
I ate a big leapard shark out of Tamales and found out later that maybe it was'nt a good idea. Live and learn. Ben

I think as you point out, one lepoard shark is not going to do you in.

so how'd it taste anyways?

I can tell you that I pity the poor rockfish that ends up on my hook,
cause he's going in the smoker or in a taco this next summer!

I won't jinx myself with any salmon comments!

If they ever put any trout in lexington or steven's creek, I'm eating
those too...

Right on, J, thanx, I owe much of it to ncka, they brought the madness back, and a lot more know-how.
The shark was Qed for some, and baked and served over sushi rice for the rest, both were amazingly good. Not as good as thresher by a long shot, but I would eat it again, just not as big and from a diferent local. I used to night-catch them at Bolinas and wonder what the toxin levels are for those fish. The one we ate was 44".
And yes, I cant wait for RF season, my favorite. Tick, tick...

Tomales Bay might not be the industrial cesspool that San Francisco Bay is, but an old quicksilver mine near Walker's Creek means that lots of mercury has leached into the bay over the years.
