Steve Moyer Memorial 2006 Rules

Thanks for your participation in the 2006 Steve Moyer Memorial, once again proceeds from this event will be going to the American Cancer Society. There will also be a $2.00 donation per entry to the ChefStephano fund. Steve Blackwell aka ChefStephano is one of our kayak fishing community that is battling cancer at this time. He has no insurance so we will be donating this money to him, as well as all the proceeds from a special raffle of a kayak to be held at the event weigh-in and BBQ.
Below is a list of the updated tournament rules. Yes I know these rules have changed, or as I prefer to say evolved, a couple of times. We are just trying to make this as fair and fun for everyone as possible as well as give as many people as possible the chance to win one of the great kayaks we are giving away, yes we are giving away SEVEN kayaks

1.   Tournament is open to kayaks, paddleboards or any other human powered vessel only. No motors of any kind allowed!
2.   Proceeds from this event will go to the American Cancer Society; two dollars from each entry will go to the Chefstephano fund.
3.   This tournament will have four divisions, Halibut, Yellowtail, White Seabass, and “Other” as in any fish not already listed as a division, such as Bonita, Barracuda, Sheepshead, or Spanish mackerel. Not to include Calico bass, sharks, skates, rays or any other fish currently out of season.
4.   A kayak will be awarded to winner of each division. Largest WSB, YT, Halibut, and ”OTHER”
5.   Kayak to be awarded are Ocean Kayak Prowler 15, Ocean Kayak Prowler Big Game, Hobie Quest. Wilderness Systems Tarpon, Old Town Canoe Dirigo 140, Cobra Double Plus One. The names of each division winner will be drawn from a hat to determine which kayak they will be awarded.
6.   Five dollars from each entry will go into a jackpot. Jackpot money will be divided between the three persons with the single  largest fish by weight, no matter the division.
7.   Only one fish will be weighed per angler from each division. i.e. one Halibut, one Yellowtail, one White Seabass and one “other”
8.   Entrants may only win one division/one kayak. This does not include the raffle
9.   The entry fee is per person NOT per kayak.
10.   All anglers must have a valid California Fishing License.
11.   All kayaks must carry a Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Devices.
12.   You must check in at the Boat launch at La Jolla Shores between 5:00am and 7:00am. Before fishing. NO EARLY LAUNCHING
13.   Everingham Brothers Bait co. has once again donated bait for our event. There is a limited amount of bait available; we will try to give each entrant a few pieces to get them started, but plan on catching more if you want mackerel. This is a first come first served situation. We will make every effort to ration the bait so that everyone gets some, sorry if we run out before you get there.
14.   The photos taken by the producers of this event will be the sole property of La Jolla Kayak Fishing and may be used to promote future events and sponsors products.
15.   The Largest single Fish by weight in the Yellowtail, White Seabass, Halibut and OTHER divisions wins. Decisions on largest fish are final and at the sole discretion of La Jolla Kayak Fishing. In the event of a tie, we will flip a coin for placement.
16.   Special prize for landing of the La Jolla Slam; Yellow tail, White Seabass, and Halibut. Heaviest slam wins.
17.   Prizes will also be awarded for top female angler, top junior angler (under 16)

19.   Live bait or lures may be used in each divisions
20.   In the event no fish from a designated category is caught, the prize will go into the raffle.
21.   Cost of preregistration is $40, Once the entry button is gone from our site, preregistration is over. Walk up entries will be accepted for $50
