LAKE CHABOT: AOTY/DOTY Awards (2/11) Potluck Thread and Logistics

Big Break is flooded, and is anticipated to be flooded this coming Saturday, the AOTY committee has decided to change our venue to LAKE CHABOT Regional Park, in Castro Valley. 

Everything else will stay the same as for timing of event.

Park Rules:
Parking is $5.
Trailered vehicles are $4 extra.
No power boats allowed.  Kayaks are $2 each for launching.
There is a watercraft inspection - $4
Fishing Fee is $5.
Dog Fee is $2.
No smoking allowed in the park.
Drinking of Beer & Wine are fine. 
Allowed to cook in the designated picnic area.

Please bring some tables and ez ups just in case.  Should be fine weather wise and there are picnic tables but we could use a few extra.

Marv/Shitty Chicken will cook his pig starting around 6am and could use a couple of hands.

You can see in the "Marina Area Detail" pictures that the parking is very close to a group of picnic tables....

This is where we are planning to set up...

Map shows these tables are roughly between a "hot coals receptacle" and "drinking water" and just across the bike path from a "fish cleaning station".

The restroom building is just down the bike path towards the lake.

I have shown the parking lot with a blue line, picnic table area in a red rectangle, and bathrooms in yellow circle.

AOTY committee guys and Shicken will be there early (6/7am) to start setting up stuff and claiming space for us so look for them and help them and set up with them.

If you have questions please post them here so we can answer them and all be on the same page.

Here is a rough agenda:

7am: pre-fish MBF
10am: Keg to arrive and Jim and Cen Coast and whoever else to start setting up tables/prizes etc
12 noon: Pig ready to eat and potluck and chill

Awards to start at 2pm:
1. Introduction and thanks to all for coming, Adventure Sports for hosting, Shicken for pig and Alpinex for keg, all sponsors etc (Jim)

7. AOTY and SAOTY Awards/Prize table (PK)
8. DOTY Awards/Prize table (Jim)
9. Participation Raffle for WS Tarpon 130x (Rob)

We will bring a salad or side (starch) in keeping with my new realignment with dietary reality. Can't help much with the Keg or pig but will also bring a dessert Item.... Will be a great time!!! See Y'all there...

We are bringing a pasta salad with Feta cheese, vegetables, and salami/meat.
I can make it with duck or goose if there is an interest, otherwise I will use yuppie folk meat.

FYI, this event will be happening rain or shine. So bring your storm trooper gear in case of wet, muddy conditions.

We are monitoring conditions closely at Big Break.

If there is a disaster (like Oroville Dam failing lol) and massive flooding or something we will pick an alternate location as close to Big Break as possible and post up details on this thread.

But we are pretty confident that Big Break will be fine.
