Anyone know how that compass holds up in the salt?  Similar specs to the outback but lighter so I imagine it will do fine.

Finished another big piece, this time a 3x4ft with a Long Range theme
Clockwise from left there are distant Ahi chasing bait, Wahoo ,pacific mackerel, anchovies, skipjack (or bonito) with a nice fat Ahi for the main event.
Now its on to the AOTY awards!
Beautiful!

Ha!

I used to keep one of those chrome stem cap + removers on hand for just such things, but fortunately never had enough opportunity/reason/moxy to use it.
Probably because it's chickenshit?  You'd lose your man card if you used it.

So, I guess I'm going with the vertical rack from rvkayakracks.com.  The boat will stick up to about 13'.  But at least we don't lose our mobility.

Rooftop is pretty much out of the equation for this rig.  Has anyone used one of these?  Incredibly pricey but would be excellent if it worked okay.  With the length of my hobie I'd be right at 13.5 feet... that's a good 3 feet over the top of my rig.  What do you think about this?  Has anyone tried a vertical mount on their rig?

Anyone have any ideas how to transport an Outback on our new motorhome other than a trailer?  I believe its too long to stand up on the back?

Damn.. I can truly empathize with that stress you must have been feeling.  Its just an overwhelming sadness here.  I had to run off to Santa Cruz for the weekend just clear my head.  My family and I are the lucky ones who lost nothing but its brutal being surrounded by so many who lost everything.  I've avoided the disaster areas and so far can't bear to take a drive through SR to get a true understanding of what's lost.  The last beat I worked before I retired 2 years ago was Coffey Park and its hard to fathom that most of it is gone now.  Brutal.

Is Crabfest an annual event?  Had a great time last year and hoping its back again.  Whoever puts it on, feel free to give me a call if you need some help.  I'll be bringing the RV if I can get my hands on a spot.

Great Video Moo!  I filmed Noaki with my phone as he was landing that second fish.  It's video proof that he is a badass fisherman!  I thought he was screwed when he fouled the hook in his net then deftly flipped it over like a pro and hauled it in.  I honestly would have lost that fish!

Sorry I didn't post it earlier but I've been up to my ass in fire for the past 4 days.  I'll add it to your thread when I get some free time today.

I wanna go back this weekend.
