Safety First / Re: Preaching the PFD message ...
« on: July 07, 2017, 03:14:59 PM »
It wouldn't surprise me if it isn't a moot point within the next couple years.  Kayaking is booming right now and more inexperienced yakkers are on the water (including myself).  Coupled with the deaths of kayakers without PFD's every month or two makes a good case for legislation that requires PFD's on kayaks.  Yeah, that would suck.

I made a concerted effort to join in on a couple NCKA events without knowing a single sole.

And now, he is acquainted with a variety of bottom feedingg flatfish!

Bouché

Haha..nice "catch" Bushy!  I didn't know if I'd snag anyone with that one!

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: Pardee Lake

I was just researching the fishing at Lake Pardee and first thing that popped up was you video.  Thanks!  I'm gonna head over there in a couple weeks (mid July)... is it foolish to camp there this time of year considering the heat?

Step out of your comfort zone a bit there Tim!  You won't regret it.  I made a concerted effort to join in on a couple NCKA events without knowing a single sole.  It was a bit awkward at the first one (Crabfest) but people warmed up when  this rookie had a podium finish at GS11!  (haha.. just had to rub that in a few faces).  If I didn't make the effort, I never would have met all these drunk, belligerent assholes!  I fit right in!

(plus, I need to make friends so that there is always someone to pull my fat ass out of the ocean in a pinch)

Sweet!  Looks like they just stocked it.  As for the squaw fish.. I love catching those things.  Smash 'em in the head and toss 'em in the water next to the boat.  Then have a beer and wait for the hawks and bald eagles to scoop 'em up.  Its amazing!

Schills206, your stickers are in the mail.

Thanks HoJo!

Heading to Pillsbury this weekend and looking forward to trying out the new Scotty Lake Troller downrigger I installed.  Haven't seen any fishing reports.  Anyone?

Some great ideas.  Seems like quite the challenge.  I have a GoPro mounted so maybe I'll just hold the trough and fish to the camera and try to grab a screen capture.  That might be the easiest.  Regardless, it's gonna a challenge.  I already tossed a decent Cabezon because water was rough and couldn't mess with taking a picture.
