Hey Chris,

Here is a quick run down of how our demo sales work at the end of the season. We will accept down payments to reserve boats starting on Labor Day, Monday September 4th. We open the store at 9 am, and will begin taking down payments at that time. Down payments can be made in person at the store or over the phone, that being said we will honor the customer in the store for first choice if they are here at the same time as a phone call ( i.e. if you call first thing at 9am to put a down payment on an Outback but someone is here at the store waiting for that same boat at 9am the boat will go to the customer who is here in person). 25% of the cost of the boat is due for the down payment and is non-refundable. Once you have put a down payment on the boat, the boat is yours at the end of the season. Demo boats will be available to pick up, once the remainder of the cost is payed, starting on September 25th. All boats will need to be picked up by mid October at the latest. If you would like to share this information on your forum you are more than welcome to. Please keep in mind we only have one demo boat of each model that we sell in the store.

I won this gold fish in the ping pong ball toss at the Sonoma County Fair 7 years ago.  I've been feeding and growing it ever since so I could take a picture of it at Albion this week.  I don't even own a kayak. 

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to Albion until Saturday afternoon and missed all the fun.  But Sunday morning, I was up at at 5:30 gearing up for an epic day of fishing.  But lo and behold... all you drunk bastards were still passed out in your tents!  I waited by the water until about 7:30am and thank goodness, Will the Thrill comes paddling by and so I finally had a fishing buddy.  The water was pretty rough in the early am and we nixed our plans to head down the coast.  I saw something boil right off Will's bow and it tweaked me a little bit.  I was thinking a sea lion was below and possibly going for the stringers but the back of my mind was thinking shark!  We were looking at the bubbles, wondering wtf it was when a humpback spouted about 100 yards away.  He was tooling at a good pace and heading north.  We yelled and called it out on the radio, then that SOB made a 90 degree turn and came right for us!  It breached right next to Will about 15 feet away.  An epic experience and one I wont soon forget!  Here's the video.  The wide angle doesn't really do it justice but you can get a good look at it at the .57 mark. 

Right now, it looks like I can actually make this event.  I'm not registered but hopefully I can buzz up Friday and fish with you all on tournament day.  Bringing a tent and camping wherever there is shade!

I have 2 artificial discs in my neck.  I undergo rhyzotomies every 6 months and the burnt nerves cause a topical nerve pain at the base of my neck.  It feels like a severe sun burn and gets aggravated by the slightest touch.  I use a CBD called ReLeaf and it works well for my issue.  I like this stuff because its an oil and doesn't smell as bad as all those others in beeswax.  Good stuff and highly recommended. 

I had planned on spending a couple days on the lake but the heat scared me off.  Against my better judgement, I went anyway for an overnighter.  Its a beautiful lake with tons of camping, a cafe, and swimming pools.  Unfortunately, its hot as hell and a "no body contact" lake.  At 10pm it was still 91 degrees. 

I fished sunrise to noon with very little luck.  They had stocked the lake 2 days earlier and fishing was good by the dock, but no one seemed to be having much luck elsewhere.  I trolled live worms and Power Worms all the way to the river arm (about 1.5 miles from dock) with no luck.  My fish finder seems to lack the ability to find fish so I had to guess at what depth the fish were at.  Water temp was a whopping 78 degrees. 

I found a decent rock wall near the mouth of the river arm that hung over a deep hole, but most importantly it offered shade while I fished.  I hooked up one decent rainbow while trolling a spinner and live worm and a dodger, but nothing else worth mentioning. 

From what I understand, this is a great fishing lake and some friends of mine score some huge trout from there.  Unfortunately, I'm pretty green at kayak fishing so take this report with a grain of salt.  I did speak to several other fishermen on the lake and none were having any luck.  That made me feel a little better.  If I ever go back, its gonna be in the spring or fall... too damn hot!

Last minute decision, but I'm in!  Gonna stay with the bro in Pleasure Point Friday and buzz up there Saturday morning.  Looking forward to meeting everyone and bringing home my new kayak that I win in the raffle!
