Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Yak cart advice needed.
« on: April 26, 2019, 07:00:00 PM »
I haven't tried any others to compare but I'm pretty happy with my C Tug.  Breaks down and stows easily.  I use it on my OK Trident 13 and my Pro Angler 14.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Lowrance elite 7 ti2 question
« on: February 12, 2019, 06:48:18 AM »
I installed the Elite 7 ti on my PA14 and use the Nocqua Lithium Ion 10 Ah battery.  I haven't been out for longer than about five hours at a time and the battery will last me a couple days.

General Talk / New Kayak Ordered
« on: June 20, 2018, 04:07:18 PM »
I've been thinking about it for a while and finally put down a deposit on a 2018 Hobie Pro Angler 14.  I should be able to pick it up the first week of July.  I'm really looking forward to getting it out on the water.

I'm thinking about installing a Raymarine Axiom 7 RV and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this unit?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

Greetings everyone!

I actually registered on here back in 2013 but wasn't able to get active.  Now that I'm retired I'm hoping to change that.  I typically fish my kayak (Ocean Kayak Trident 13) in Utah.  I just sold my 26' Striper and looking to get a Hobie PA 14.  I'm hoping to get out on some California water and enjoy my retirement.

Welcome! Just moved back from STG.. Born and fished here in Santa Cruz all my life, moved to St. George for family, lasted 4 years there. Fished minersville for big Bows and Browns, Sand hollow for bass, Quail Hollow, Beaver Creek for browns and bows, Antimony, Kolob (big cuttys) etc...

If you want to fish salt and plan on coming near or around Monterey Bay / Santa Cruz, feel free to contact me!

Thanks for the offer.  Once things slow down for me I might just take you up on it.  I was born in Milford Ut. and still have family in Beaver, and a brother in Leads.  I really enjoy the area and want to start expanding my fishing spots.  I enjoyed being on the ocean in my Striper and look forward to transition that to the kayak.  I'm sure I'll have lots of questions once I get going.

Welcome and congrats on the retirement!

Thank you.  Actually been retired for almost two years now.  Trying to finish up the "honey do" list so I can go play.

Welcome!  Where do you fish in Utah?

I typically fish the lakes around Beaver Ut. (Southern Ut.).  I really enjoy one called Minersville.  It's a "trophy lake".  Rainbow Trout, limit 1, keepers bigger than 22", all artificial tackle.

I have a couple videos on youtube fishing Minersville.  If I want a little more scenery I'll go up into the forest and fish those lakes.
