I was thinking it may be fun to have a contest just for fun
The idea is  you take say 5 locations latitude and longitude
Would be used you have to sail to each location and fish for an given minimum time before moving to the next location you get 1 point for each fish and one point for every inch of fish
I'm thinking you want enough distance that you need to sail
Unlike normal comtests we keep the fish and cook them on shore
Looking to see if there would be any interest in this and ideas to make it fun for all
glade you made it
now let's get our fish on

Don't want to steal this tread but i have to say...Get one! Even if you don't catch fish, its fun just sailing around.  You almost never have to worry about capsizing.  With the right wind, trolling is awesome and you can beat your friends to the prime fishing locations.  Throw your kids on the trampoline and they get to experience it too.  Halibu's videos inspired me to try it out

if we were to do this what is the preferred location the cost SC area lake Tahoe or sf bay some other place I'm open to new locations but the farther away the harder for me to scout a may need local help also how far between location and how Long at a location needs to be worked out and is it even possibly to include non sailing participant's depending on the wind they may not be able to keep up i think sticking with sailing would work best but lets get some other opinions

Look closely,, there's two Leeboards that are built into that.   Those become the " keel"  / centerboard.
I'm wanting to try it out on the G2 ,,with the Mirage Drive acting as the centerboard.

Another version, using a Hobie sail..    furling.      I think Nowhereman  rigged something similiar.

Here's a step further,,,  This was probably the best performance of them all..   balanced nicely.   Just trimming the sails was all I needed to steer.
