Title: Experience with Malibu Pro 2 Tandem Kayak as fishing vehicle
Post by: The Mad Dabber on April 06, 2014, 05:50:26 PM
I've done the Ocean Kayaks Malibu 2 fully rigged. (Very stable, a pig to paddle, low and wet.) I'm currently using a Cobra Tandem fully rigged (Not particularly stable, especially with two people, doesn't track well, high and dry.)

Has anyone rigged up a Malibu Pro 2? Would like your review if so.

Hey how does the Cobra function when you're solo? I'
m trying to figure out a good tandem for diving solo 90% of the time, diving tandem (smaller daughter) 5% of time and maybe some solo drift fishing too. Any feedback appreciated.

Tandems aren't great solo boats in general.

I have the Malibu 2 it's mostly rig.  Dang thing is heavy.  It's okay when I am out with my brother.  I am only using it in a lake right.  So it's actually fine,  I am looking to upgrade to something like the nucanoe.  I want bigger and more options.

What are you using the tandem for? Ocean?  As for paddling tandems, I think the wildly 130t and liquidlogic deuce coupe (native owns this company) paddle the best. But both are wetter rides and it's really hard to find a deuce coupe.

No I need to get a wet suit and a radio before hitting the ocean.  Mostly lakes right now.
