hey guys whats the best way to get to Albion form the north valley? I'm thinking 5 down to the 20, 20 through clear lake to Ukiah, south on the 101. then West booneville road to the 128 to the 1. never driven anything south or west of ukiah so any insight would be help full. google doesn't always give the best directions or road info. thanks, PS leaving around noon tommorow!

You almost got it right. Take 20 to Ukiah then north on 101/20 to Willits. West on 20 at Willits to Ft Bragg. South on 1 to Albion See you there

20 across is what I usually do. Then in Ukiah take Boonville rd across the hills to the hwy to the coast.  I don't go up to willits because of the steep climb from Ukiah, and then the long winding downhill to the coast. In my motorhome the other way is easier. I may head around Santa Rosa this time to avoid CL which is out of the way for you.

Jeff I drive both ways quite offten for work, and will be Wednesday, working Fort Bragg on Thursday. Both are about the same in time but willits part of 20 seems more of a drive. Wednesday I will go thru Ukiah, partly because that's where I will finish, and drive boonville rd to Fort Bragg. Coming home Thursday I will take 20. Just the way I have been doing it for years. Maybe Wednesday evening I will stop by for a beer on my way to FB.

Go to  Ukaih take the road to  Boonville, turn right after the brewery, I think it's 128. Hit the coast head north for  3 miles, cross bridge turn right and your home for the weekend!

I just got asked this very question for someone coming from the Yreka area to Sonoma.  My answer was the same as Craig's.  Additionally, Willits has better fuel prices.  Both routes will get you there.  See you there!

Don't forget to stop at the brewery either. On the way here I had their bourbon stout, wild turkey amber, and a double abby. All delicious.
Was going t purchase a couple of growlers, but they were out of growlers....go figure.
Both bridges on hwy1, the one at Albion and the one right before are one lane only with a traffic light at each end. Doing construction on both. Hasn't been a real issue.

How about from the south bay?  128 looks like the obvious choice, but not sure how steep it is.  Anyone pulling their trailer up 128, or do you go up to 20?
