I just got a new Revolution 13.  What's a better storage method?  I have metal cross bars on my camper which lives in my garage.  Would it be better to store it upside down on those metal cross bars or right side up on a kayak roof rack attached to those same cross bars?  Thanks

Personally I purchased the Hobie cradles for my outback and store it on those in the garage. Overkill a bit yeah but it won’t deform the hull and makes it easy to work on it and clean it.

Upside down is how hobie suggests transport/storage.

I’ve lived in hot Florida and Central Valley weather and always stored my Revo and Outback on their sides without consequence!

On it's side or upside down are what's recommended.  Never store one right-side up no matter what it's sitting-on.

You can store it right side up on the cradles like I mentioned. Hobie verifier this.

I store my AI rightside-up on PVC pipe bunks. They conform nicely to the shape of the hull and, IMHO, are just as good as the Hobie cradles, at about 2% of the cost...

Here is a picture of how I had it.  I already took off the kayak rack and flipped it over and now it is resting upside down on some round metal crossbars with pool noodles...that are on top of my popup camper in the garage.  The bars are about 4-5 feet apart and support the kayak evenly.  I feel good about it now even though the way I had it was similar to using the cradles.

i have been storing my outback on two pop-up camping chairs since when you place it on there, it mold the shape of the kayak. One in front and one in the back. It gives enough space so i just leave the wheels in place. The bar doesn't rest against the hull.

Its quick and easy since when I need to roll it out, I'll just pull the front chair out and then the back and bam the kayak lower down to the wheels and I'm ready to roll it out of the garage :)

I used to store it on a pulley system against the ceiling but I go so often and its a hassle raising and lowering it each time lol

attach is a picture excuse the dog and box lol i'll take a better picture but you get the idea :)

First question/observation as we had to do something like this at our apartment:  Does the bow/stern clear the garage door , door opener, or anything else, if so it doesn't matter, if it doesn't try flipping it over and see if it clears now.

If one way works and the other doesn't the choice was made for you.

GF's touring kayak has a well defined high prow bow, it would not clear the car port, flip it over and it works fine.
