Mostly Mendo/Sonoma?  Get a mask and pull some abalone!  Find some mushroom spots to/from.  Poke pole for MFE.  If you're down in Monterey turban snails are pretty abundant on the giant kelp.  Sheep crab and octopus if you dive and are lucky :)  if you also land hunt you may be able to swing some year-round small game species like jackrabbit and collared doves some place on your drive.

If you get into spearfishing you can get abs, scallops, rockfish, lings, cabs, crabs, rare octopus and who knows what else.

Fishing you can hit the salmon if they are in, look for some sandy bottom and it has potiential for halibut.  Then the fall has plenty of mushrooms. Crab just need any sandy bottom and you can find em.

If you're abalone diving, why not get a gun or spear and shoot some fish?
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Listen to Ryan. He's been doing this stuff since he was a little kid and knows what's up. Good thing too because he's got a whole family of people that like to eat his catch!

Your best bet is to hit up the RCG and then grab some mussels on your way back through the Sonoma beaches. There's spots where the mussels go right up to the high tide line on some rocks. You can also catch perch from some of these same beaches.

Or learn how to forage for mushrooms and do that after RCG.

I used to do overnight soaks of traps I  bodega for crab and dive for abs/ urchin in the morning before going back to pull traps.  It definitely makes for a long day though.  Season changed now though so that's not doable.  But if you ab dive at all you can easily get a cheap pole spear and hit perch or rockfish on the way in.

If you'e at Bodega walk down to rocks at the east end of Doran Beach, they are loaded with mussels.
