Hi all - do you guys modify your deep 6 settings out of the box for the release pressure? Any way you guys do it to get it consistent?

You basically have to adjust it before you use it.

Put the pieces together and pull it apart - it should be easy but not too easy.  The determining factor is whether it pops when a fish strikes your terminal gear, and you can learn how to achieve that by starting your troll and seeing if just the resistance causes it to pop.  Swells may also pop it.  You want it just tight enough to not have trolling pressure or swells pop it.

Squeeze the two sides of the metal "clasp" part while you turn the screw, and do it without the "bead" part in there.

Best of luck.

Eric typed what I was about to type...

If a fish bites and it doesn’t release, that fish is as good as gone. (Don’t ask me how I know.)

Wait... I think I just answered your question on Coastside?

haha you might have...asking in multiple spots since we're going soon.

Seems like I'll just make some adjustments on the water until I get the sweet spot (doesn't pop due to wind / swell but is relativeyl easy to pop if I need to reel it in)

Yup. That’s the idea. If you squeeze the two sides together a little to release the tension on the screw, you can usually twist it with a fingernail. Good for quick “on the fly” adjustments...
