Josh - yeah - I do see kayak surfers in that area. I tried to paddle out there one time (from a distance - I thought they were kayak fishermen) but as soon as I got close enough - I saw that they were RIDING waves and not fishing.....so basically, I did a U-turn and headed back to my side of the world :smt002

Bill: I noticed I couldn't find this site on google with a couple straightforward searches, though I could find sites with links to norcalkayakanglers.com, can you sprinkle the site with 0pt keywords or somesuch to increase our google score? I know there's an entire science of increasing your google score and I'm no expert, but it'd be great if this place was easier to find.

I actually posted our site in craigslist under Activities a few times. I just try to re-new the post when it expires (after 10 days - I believe)

Yes there is a secret science that I and a few of the guys I work with are pretty well versed in.

However no matter what science you apply it takes time to get google to find your site. They only update the database once a month and up until a few weeks ago we where linked from 0 sites, therefore we will have a low google ranking. I have done link exchanges with numerous sites in the past few weeks so that should improve things.

Also it would help if we had some more content on the site. If anyone feels like writing a few articles/how to's etc... feel free I will get them up on the main site.

Bottom line, I am on it!  :smt003

For starters you could import the launch profiles that I posted to elrics site and put them in the documentation section.  I think it'd be awesome to have profiles for all the fishing areas, much like PFIC does pier profiles.

I could do another one for fort ross propper, but I'll defer to people that've had more success to do linda mar, davenport, muir beach, ect.

I am hoping I can work the bugs out in the next few weeks. If anyone has PHP skills, I could use some help!

To see the general direction I am going go to the main site and click on Kayak Launch sites. I have added a few Josh posted today in there already. Features I have planned:

- Pictures of the launch, currently trying to kill a bug in the code

- Long/Lat with link to mapquest map and Cal coastal record

- People can add there own listings

The rating and review stuff is already up and working so give it a try!

It'd be cool to get UW charts up too.  Those can be obtained from maptech, usgs, ect.  Might be some issues on how you can post them without annoying copyright holders, probably links to maptech would be ok.  I'm pretty sure garmin would be POd if I used screenshots of bluecharts...
