I'm  thinking of getting a group together for a houseboat / Mother ship trip to Lake Berryessa or even Lake Shasta. (we can hold a kayak fishing tournament as well)

Maybe this can be an annual event / trip for the Norcal Kayak Anglers?

Any thoughts?

I'll try to get more info. on house boat rental deals during the San Mateo ISE on Feb. 3 to 6.

Hey Joel,

New Melones has houseboats, also.  They run from $2,000 to $3,000 a weekend (summer rates) or $1,800 to $2,300 May 27 to June 20 or Sept. 3 to 30.  Or, $1,500 to $2,000 Oct 1 to May 22 (off season).  The price depend on if you want a 53ft or 56ft.

They want a $450 deposit and the full by 45 inadvance.  Cancel 45 days of more is a loss of $100.  Less than 30 days and it is $450 loss.

Sleeps 10 to 14.

I haven't been to New Melones, but I do know Lake Shast well.  I usually spend one week (usually in July) camping, fishing, and boating on Ski Island which is small island in the middle of the lake.  It's within kayaking distance of the Silverthorn resort.

I think a houseboat mothership deal would be sweet since we could cover way more water and easily get to the river arms that hold lots of bass and trout.

New Melones is like 2 and 1/2 hrs or 3 hrs drive and they have Eagle Lake trout in there.

No Joel, I will not set-up the trip.  Just thinking head..of you.
